Host Winery
Boyd Family Vineyards
Following careers in the travel industry, Stan Boyd and Joan Boyd established Big Ranch Vineyards and Boyd wine. The property, nearly 22 acres located off Big Ranch Road in Napa, was acquired in 1998. Since then, over 20,000 vines of Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Cabernet Sauvignon have been carefully planted, nurtured, harvested, and crafted into exceptional wines.
Nestled in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, the vineyard thrives in a climate that is slightly cooler, paired with rich, heavy clay soils. This unique environment is ideal for producing ultra-premium Merlot and Syrah, which are integral components of some of Napa Valley’s most sought-after wines.
Today, while more than 50% of our grapes are sold to other esteemed wineries, we also produce limited quantities of ultra-premium wines. These wines are made with the utmost attention to detail, using only the finest materials and techniques, in our pursuit to craft full-bodied wines that capture the true essence of the land.
At Boyd Family Vineyards, we take pride in offering all of our wines directly to our consumers, ensuring a personal and exclusive experience with each bottle. We believe that direct-to-consumer sales allow us to foster a stronger connection with our wine enthusiasts and share our passion for crafting exceptional wines. It’s a relationship we value deeply, ensuring our wine lovers are always at the heart of what we do.

About Us
Great Expectations of Kindness, LLC was a dream come true to Gretchen and Doug Leech after Doug was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2015. Inspired by the research and support given by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, in 2018 Doug decided to run for Man of the Year, a fundraiser benefiting LLS. The Leeches established Grape Expectations, a signature wine tasting and steak dinner to bring friends together for an unique experience in raising money for cancer. After attending the first event some friends saw an opportunity to join the Leeches in their endeavor to fundraise. We joined together as like-minded friends for the greater cause of helping cancer patients in the state of Arkansas through raising funds for research, housing, travel, and other necessities that come with a cancer diagnosis.
The group quickly decided to form its own 501c3 called Great Expectations of Kindness with the aspiration to make a difference in organizations centered around serving those with cancer. Each year an organization is chosen to be the recipient of the GEK donation.
